Just about gasped when I saw Doris Akers' album with the Statesmen Quartet on this list - that is a great, great southern gospel album! I knew this list wouldn't disappoint.
Oh, my gosh! This was so great, David - my dogs are mad at you that I was so enthralled by this that I was ten minutes late feeding them this afternoon.
How could I never notice the John Price and Kris Kristofferson foreshadowing from Dylan before this? How could I have never seen the Roger Miller album or that King Records collection in my life? How can you be so damn good at describing all this music and making me want to dive into the records (more than half here) I've never heard before?
Also, I've long believed Live at the Star Club is not just on the short list of greatest live albums, it is the short list. Some days I'll tie it with No Sleep Til Hammersmith by Motorhead, but I can't think of anything else that perfect.
Since I only know the Chuck, Bucks, Killer and Dylan... some fun exploring ahead. Thanks!

We aim to please Doris Akers fans! Thx. --dc
