Thank you David for the remarkable presentation of 1964 recordings. I truly appreciate the inclusion of the several iconic bluegrass albums of that year. A thoughtful, comprehensive and well written piece as always. Carl Goldstein
First-rate list, as always - I love this scholarly approach to country music. One album that strikes me as missing is Don Gibson's first-rate 'God Walks These Hills' with the Jordanaires and the Anita Kerr Singers, especially a funky take on Thomas Dorsey's 'Old Ship of Zion.' Another (and mostly because I was raised on it) is Tennesse Ernie's 'Great Gospel Songs' with the Jordanaires.
I need to listen to FATS ON FIRE right now.
