I like the comparison of Shelby Lynn to Dusty Springfield. When I listened to the album, Springfield didn’t specifically come to mind but my first thought was “Memphis.” Which of course leads directly to Springfield.
I've been patiently waiting for someone to appropriately praise Safiya's album. I feel exactly the same way. It is VERY Memphis in a way I haven't heard in awhile. And Lynne's album is also a little underpraised! Thanks for the tips along the way this year!
