Hype Yourself: Charles Hughes on a new album
Charles appears on his friend John Bass' debut album
Charles appears as a background vocalist on two songs on the new debut album by his friend John Bass. John, a twenty-year veteran of both music and music education in Memphis, is a great guitar player, singer, and songwriter who has assembled a roster of friends and collaborators for this collection of original material. Charles is there alongside local luminaries like Tamar Love from roots-punk band Mama Honey, saxophone stalwart Jim Spake, Tierinii and TK Jackson of Southern Avenue, and many others. Charles is honored and flattered to be in their company, and he also contributed some notes for John’s website. One of the tracks featuring Charles is below, and make sure to check out the whole album.
